CRASH: Drawboard Randomly Crashing (188.8.131.52)
OS: Windows 10 Pro Version 1903
Device: Surface Book One
About 5 minutes after opening a file, Drawboard becomes unresponsive. Before each of the crashes I am only utilizing the inking and lasso functions. I tend to zoom in/out and scroll around quickly as well. I tried reducing file size and the number of tabs open, but eventually the program crashes. I also reset the app through the Microsoft Apps and Features menu and reinstalled the app. Neither of these options fixed the issue.
This started happening on 10/27/19, but when I was using drawboard on 10/25/19 everything was fine. I haven't had any issues before this and have been using drawboard since late July, 2019.
We released an update yesterday that had some fixes to address these issues,
Can you please ensure you are up to date with version 5.19.0 and report as to if the issue is continuing?

Same here, please fix it!
Same with me. Crashes every 2-5 minutes. Workflow is very low. I'm loosing time an money!

App crashes regularly. Can't say what triggers it.
Same problems here as everyone else... help!
I have the same problem, and power draw appears to be a factor. My surface only ever runs hot when I'm annotating a PDF. On September 14th, during one particularly grueling annotation session, my surface ran so hot the battery swelled badly. I'm having exactly the same issue with the warranty replacement and bought a cooling pad to try and mitigate the damage.
I've been trying to figure out what's causing it to render poorly after zoom or scroll, lag the pen and fail to record any annotations for several infuriating seconds, and frequently crash, losing several seconds to several minutes of unsaved annotations. Monitoring task manager processes, I've learned Drawboard pulls 50% CPU, over 800MB/30% memory, and has a "very high" power draw during simple handwritten annotation on a 1.6 MB PDF file. At present, it's freezing in under 2 minutes.
I'm studying medicine, and this was my lifeline. I used to love Drawboard PDF. It is why I bought a Surface in the first place. It's why my study buddies did the same. We're all having the same problem and it's infuriating. For me, it's proven an insurmountable impediment over the last month. I can no longer use Drawboard in the classroom because I cannot trust it not to lag or freeze and cost me precious time and notes. Please for the love of all things, fix this soon!
Surface Pro 5th gen. model 1796 i7
Windows 10 1903, build 18362
Surface Pro 4. Drawboard 184.108.40.206.
3 megabyte file. Pen is slow/non-responsive for approx. 5 seconds after a page relocation or zoom. If page is kept still, pen function seems to be normal/responsive.
Processor jumps to 80% during slow pen use (following a page move or zoom).
Processor at 40% during smooth pen use (long time after a page move or zoom).
I love Drawboard, but this jumpy *** pen is getting me down.
Me too... It is very disturbing!

Surface Pro 6: same issue.
To add to the last comment... Im using 220.127.116.11
Same issue here on my surface. Using windows 10 pro. files also lag (pixilate) when I move around or page quickly. Once frozen I have to close drawboard.
While writing with pen, saving, erasing, the program constantly freezes. Have to restart it.
Surface Pro 5. Same issue happening to me recently. Although I am viewing much larger pdfs (90-100 page slideshow) with plenty of diagrams in a 11MB pdf. Often freezing when zooming, sluggish writing and erasing. Sometimes have to close and reopen the program when it's taking extra long. Have the same issue of sometimes having the screen blur and take a while to load and focus.
freezes after creating a note (Windows)

happens to me frequently when I am in the pages view, not in other views, 5.18 version is when it started
update: now happening when in any view; sometimes when I reboot my surface, the problem is fixed for a while but then happens later again
The drawboard app uses up to 2GB of my RAM with a simple PDF-File and therefore doesn't run smoothly anymore. Especially when zooming in, I have to wait up to 10 seconds before being able to write again with my pencil. The bug appeared from one day to the next. I'm using the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X1 (8GB RAM).

As CJ noted we are experiencing the same issues with Drawboard crashing and have noticed it happens when zooming.
Same here. I've only noticed it the last week or so. It's been very sluggish, and after zooming or scrolling it takes about a minute before I can use the pen again. I have version 18.104.22.168 on a Surface Pro 4
Mine has been freezing quite a bit too, I've had to kill and restart the app several times now in the past day or two. I haven't noticed any particular behavior that triggers it, and the file is small compared to many I've worked with. It's frustrating, I'm trying to figure out how to do my homework, not troubleshoot this program...
It's also surprisingly sluggish. There has often been an annoyingly significant when trying to delete ink, but now selecting ink (quite slow) and even writing (generally acceptable) are also affected.

We've had this issue pop up for a couple of our employees. For one of them it happens every couple of files he opens (opening a new file every 8 mins or so). For others it is less frequent, but all of them have started complaining about this happening here in the last week.
Since updating to 22.214.171.124, Drawboard will occaisionally hang when erasing, moving, or resizink ink vectors.
